VIS – Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap and GC Rieber Eiendom have been developing Marineholmen and the Innovation District for over ten years to provide entrepreneurs and businesses with even better growth opportunities – and to establish Bergen as a leading city of innovation.
Together, we create important meeting places that connect tomorrow’s ideas with established local industry, academia, and potent capital.
We focus on showcasing the new and innovative solutions emerging from the sea, in close collaboration with the maritime clusters.

Demo Day Vestlandet
Demo Day Vestland annually connects great ideas with capital. Selected startups from Western Norway are given the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a full room of investors. The entire day is filled with presentations and exciting meetings that pave the way for further growth in the region’s business community.
Innovasjonsuken OPP
«Innovasjonsuken OPP» translates to «The Innovastion week UP». It connects entrepreneurs, investors, and businesses, opens doors for young talents, and puts Western Norway on the global map.
OPP is an annual celebration of entrepreneurship, organized in close collaboration with local partners. There are incredibly many exciting initiatives and solutions in Norway that do not receive the attention they deserve. OPP is a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and advocacy.
Women’s Initiative
Together with our excellent partners, we have set an ambitious goal: to inspire action and encourage closer collaboration to promote women in leadership positions. This initiative is part of a larger movement to build career ladders for women and to promote gender equality in the workplace.
Under this initiative, we have, among other activities, marked International Women’s Day at Marinehagen with over 300 women and a comprehensive program on women’s health and investments.
HAVlunsj
HAVlunsj translates to OCEANlunch and is an informal meeting place for the maritime industries, focusing on skills enhancement and networking.
HAV Lunch is organized on the second-to-last Thursday of the month (with some exceptions) by VIS, Maritime Bergen, GCE Ocean Technology, NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster, GC Rieber Eiendom, and Maritime CleanTech.
